Family Hope Center

A Place of Safety, Stability, and New Beginnings for Families in Crisis

The Family Hope Center is more than just a shelter—it’s a lifeline for families facing homelessness in Howard County. At Coordinated Assistance Ministries (CAM), we understand the unique challenges parents and children face when they lose housing. That’s why the Family Hope Center exists: to ensure no family is left out in the cold.

This home serves families who would otherwise be on the streets, offering immediate shelter, compassionate care, and a structured pathway forward. Each family receives a private space to rest and rebuild, along with access to vital services such as transportation, life skills programming, and housing navigation. This short-term relief allows families to regain stability while providing a healthy transitional period for these families to build and thrive off of moving forward.

We believe in both compassion and accountability. Families at the Hope Center are asked to actively participate in their progress by:

  • Seeking employment or job training opportunities

  • Applying for long-term housing through the local Housing Authority

  • Engaging with our wraparound support services

Every family is partnered with a dedicated caseworker who specifically focuses on family needs. This caseworker walks alongside them to help secure documents, develop savings goals, connect with housing resources, and create a plan for long-term stability.

At the Family Hope Center, we help families move from survival to self-sufficiency with dignity and direction. With on onsite office that continues the support and progression of these families getting back on their feet.

Family Hope begins here.
